About Jackie Horne
Content creation has changed dramatically in recent decades and my career has with it. Since leaving Cambridge University with a Master’s degree in history, I have worked as a print and a broadcast journalist, including a stint at Britain’s BBC, where I was a business producer on the Today programme.
My career-defining moment came with the advent of the Internet. This enabled new content providers to disintermediate traditional publishers and talk directly to their audience. I was lucky enough to be there right at the very beginning - as a co-owner and editor of Hong Kong-based dot.com, FinanceAsia. I helped to build it into a respected and profitable pan-Asian publisher before we sold to the UK’s Haymarket Media Group.
Today, I advise on, write and produce books, editorial and marketing content for the media, financial institutions and corporations worldwide. I predominantly live in London, but also spend time in Hong Kong, plus Sri Lanka, where I am a director of an educational and environmental NGO, the Schools Relief Initiative.
Credentials
Book publishing: Attention spans have got shorter, but well-thought-out books have as much, if not more, of an impact than ever before. I’m a keen chronicler of individual, corporate, or family histories that help to shape a better understanding of the present by bringing the past and trends to life.
Editorial services: I provide a full range of services from consultancy and planning to commissioning and production. This also spans style and subject matter. Please note that this site does not include samples for confidentiality reasons.
